What are Restylane®, Perlane, and Restylane
Fine Lines?

All these products are hyaluronic acid. This is a
naturally occurring part of our body. It is in all of our
skin and helps to form its natural structure. It is
made synthetically to be pure and natural.

What are Restylane®, Perlane, and Restylane
Fine Lines used for?

They are used to help fill in areas of the skin that have fallen. This is what
causes lines and wrinkles. Examples of these are smile lines, or the lines that
form on our upper lip often called smokers lines. As well they can be used to
plump up an area like the lips, or the cheeks. I can make them look fuller and
softer appearing.

How safe are these products?

None of these products are made from or taken from animals so the risk of
allergy or obtaining any transmitted disease is not really a concern. They are
also biodegradable so although the results are long lasting eventually it will all be
absorbed.

How is the product given?

The hyaluronic acid is injected in to the area with a tiny needle. Most injections
only have a mild discomfort. Anesthetic can be put in the area before to allow a
pain free injection.

When does it start to work?

Immediately you will notice improvement in the area treated. There may be a
little swelling that will resolve over the next day or two.

How long will it last?

The improvement you will achieve from RestylaneŽ, Perlane, and Restylane fine
line will last usually from 4 - 6 months. There will be gradual fading of the results
at which point you can return for another treatment.

What are the side effects?

The side effects are related to the injection on the hyaluronic acid. Initially the
area may be a little swollen, but this usually resolves that day. Some minor
redness can be seen and rarely a bruise may result from the injection. This
always disappears.
